TESTIMONIALS

FOR EDITING AND PROOFREADING

"Tyler's proofreading for my quarterly publication is very thorough, prompt, and shows his mastery of the craft of writing.  It has brought the quality of my magazine to a whole new level." - Roslyn McGrath, Publisher, Health & Happiness U.P. Magazine

"I would describe Tyler Tichelaar's Book Review and Editing Services in one word...ASTOUNDING.

When I was ready to send my book "Third" to print, I wanted to include an introduction by another author to give a perspective different from my own. But I did not want just anyone. I wanted someone who is respected for his work, and someone who has the ability to discern other great works when he reads them. Tyler Tichelaar immediately came to mind.

Not only did he demonstrate an incredible ability to know exactly where I was coming from, he caught a few inaccuracies that only the keenest eye would have noticed.

With an impressive knowledge of the English language, evidenced in his novels, Tichelaar is definately top-notch. I ended up incorporating all his suggestions for revision, and feel my book has profited even more tremendously as a result." - Devin Dugan, author of "Third"

"I wanted a review of my work: "John Lazoo," "WIPE," and "Illicit Blade of Grass." What Tyler R. Tichelaar's Superior Book Promotions created for me was an appraisal with critique, crafted by an expert in literary techniques." - John Reyer Afamasaga, author of "John Lazoo" (LMLA-ink) etfiction.com

"Superior Book Promotions provides fast, incisive, and authentic reviews. I am indebted to the depth and acumen of Dr. Tichelaar's editiorial skills." - Victor R. Volkman, Owner, Loving Healing Press www.LHPress.com

"I would like to express my sincere appreciation for the excellent review that Tyler R. Tichelaar gave my first book "Harvey the Great Lakes Whale." Mr. Tichelaar not only gave an extremely accurate and honest description of the story but also an outstanding opinion of the book. After reading his review, I felt as though I should run quickly to the bookstore and buy my own book. Harvey and Gertrude the gossiping gull would love it. Kudos to Tyler R. Tichelaar Ph.D." - William George Nelson, author of "Harvey the Great Lakes Whale"

Tyler R. Tichelaar's review for our featured novel "Rapunzel's Window" is a scholarly piece of writing that shows how comfortable Tichelaar is with the genre and content. His comments, while specific, cover the novel’s thrust and intentions nicely, offering the reader a perspective that is unique.

In his use of language and critique skills, he excels in drawing the reader into the plot and the eventual unraveling of the guilty secrets closely guarded by the large cast of characters. His suggestion that a character list be included is both constructive and exceptionally practical. When our author met with a book club, this was their only suggestion for improvement.

In comparing our author’s skill to Willa Cather’s description of small towns, Tichelaar displayed his expertise and knowledge. Since our author grew up in a small farming community in northwestern Ohio, her subject matter is familiar, as is her teaching career of journalism, writing, and public speaking.

We were especially pleased with a review that transcends the usual and explores the depth and detail included in Rapunzel’s Window; it is much more than a mystery/suspense book. His use of vocabulary and his ability to understand the author’s intentions and passion for her characters’ lives, fixations, and their interaction with each other displays a thorough understanding of the way authors work and think.

For a first-time novelist’s review, Tichelaar zeroed in on the emphasis our author places on allowing the characters in Rapunzel’s Window the freedom to develop their lives in a logical progression based on each character’s background, family history and personality.

We are very happy with the tone Tichelaar used throughout the review and with phrases such as, “Lanning replaces sensationalism with good judgment and a concern for her characters,” and “…the ivory smoothness of her prose”.

We commend him for a job well done. - Cheryl Lanning, author of "Rapunzel's Window"

"Tyler R. Tichelaar, with a Ph.D. in English, brings a high degree of credibility to his written reviews. More important, however, is his insight, his depth of writing, his talent to persuade. All reviewers can praise a book, but only the best can do so convincingly. Not only does Tichelaar make the reader a believer, he does so with genuine feeling and vitality that compels interest by the reader, and excitement for the book. In the field of reviewers, Tichelaar ranks way, way up there. Definitely five stars!" - Gary Shoup, author of "Suma the Elephant"

"I extend my highest recommendation on behalf of Dr. Tyler Tichelaar to authors who are seeking reviews of their work. Dr. Tichelaar read my book thoroughly, and extracted the plot, themes, character qualities, and character relationships precisely. His review demonstrated his extensive knowledge of literature and writing, and he gave enough details of the story to entice the reader to find out more without revealing the climax. Because of his background in writing reviews, and because he submitted it to www.amazon.com (a giant in the Internet bookselling world), it became an instant and valuable marketing tool for my book. As an author who appreciates the work involved in reading books and formulating honest, yet supportive comments, I would not hesitate to call on him as a reliable reviewer." - Farral Bradtke, author of "Heartless Heartland"

"Tyler took a keen interest in my novel “Ojisan Zanoni” and was kind enough to write a comprehensive review which he posted both on his own site and on Amazon Books. The review was very carefully written showing not only that he had read the book thoroughly but also that he had a specialized knowledge and interest in its subject matter.

Professional reviews are an immensely important vehicle for book distribution and every writer reads them with a sense of trepidation. Showing one’s work to friends or family can be very revealing but once agents, publishers or reviewers become involved a more objective appraisal is received. They see the work with professional eyes and deserve to be taken very seriously as they know not only about a book’s literary merit, sales and marketing potential but also can judge what public reaction will be. One does not always like what they have to say but the wise author will pay careful attention to all feedback.

Tyler is qualified not only because of his academic background but because he is himself a published author which makes an immense difference and brings another dimension to his appraisals. Because he considers that poor or negative reviews are unhelpful for everyone, he takes the sensible approach of only becoming involved with works of a high standard.

It has been said that no sane writer can judge his/her own work! On reading Tyler’s review of my book, I was struck with the immense care and interest he had taken. My first reaction was he had been overly generous with his star ratings and emphasis on the book's positive merits as I was aware the novel had many shortcomings. These were, however, delicately mentioned with sensibility and in a way that was very helpful and encouraging.

If I had been aware of Tyler’s services before publication, I would have sent the book to him in manuscript form and would have been able to take advantage of his expertise in making several amendments and improvements before going to print. I would also have been able to use his review for publishers’ blurb and promotional press releases.

I feel Tyler is not only able to provide a very useful and informative review service, but he can also offer valuable and comprehensive support and contacts for writers setting out on the self-publishing road.

Once you have contacted Tyler, I am sure you will quickly realize he provides a personal, helpful, encouraging service of high professional integrity that will be of great value to your writing career." - Michael Willey, author of "Ojisan Zanoni"
